Moodle Linking to a Presentation in Google

Original link:

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14QBsF0SWJ2R4dntLFGOmc2AZLqbxXfCrpSBQdW1J9Vc/edit#slide=id.g557ae06a_2_0

Will bring up the presentation in the slide mode.  User has to start the presentation.

IF, however, one changes the URL ending to this:

/present#slide=id.g557ae06a_2_0

Thus link is now:

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/14QBsF0SWJ2R4dntLFGOmc2AZLqbxXfCrpSBQdW1J9Vc//present#slide=id.g557ae06a_2_0

The link then starts in the presentation.

M$ PowerPoint

If using PowerPoint, one has to make sure the extension of the powerpoint is
set to a presentation file so the local PowerPoint knows what to do with the file.
A pptx - will launch PowerPoint in the slide editing mode, where as an extension
of .ppsx will launch PowerPoint in the slide show mode.

IMHO - Google Presentation beats MS-Powerpoint at least in keeping the end point
(i.e. students) in mind ... keep students in the web.  In other words, try NOT to require students purchase a full blown office suite for your course.   If you must,
suggest providing a link to download a FREE office suite that will function
with your course content.
